Profiles: two numbers, two roles
Your profile fits into two numbers separated by a slash. It is not a rank or a level: they are two roles running at once, one you choose and one you undergo.
Where the two numbers come from
A profile is calculated from two positions of the Sun.
The first is the one on the day of birth. It gives the number on the left, associated with what a person recognises in themselves without difficulty.
The second is the one about 88 days before birth. It gives the number on the right, associated with a part of how they function that others often notice first.
Each position falls in a gate, and each gate divides into six lines. It is the number of that line which appears in the profile.
The six lines

The names are the system’s own. They sound grandiose, and are better read as labels of convenience than as judgements.
Why twelve, and not thirty-six
Six lines combined in pairs would give thirty-six. The system counts only twelve.
The reason is mechanical. The two Suns are separated by a fixed distance along the zodiac, so their respective lines do not vary freely against each other. Only certain combinations occur.
The twelve existing profiles are: 1/3, 1/4, 2/4, 2/5, 3/5, 3/6, 4/6, 4/1, 5/1, 5/2, 6/2 and 6/3.
Reading the two numbers together
The first number describes a way of functioning the person recognises easily. The second describes a part they identify with more difficulty, and that people around them often notice first.
Two misreadings come up constantly.
Reading the numbers as a level. A line 6 is not more advanced than a line 1. The number orders nothing, it names.
Forgetting the type. A profile describes how you learn and relate, not how you decide. Two Generators with different profiles make decisions by the same mechanism, but do not move through the same situations.
What a profile does not say
It says nothing about how you decide. That is the role of type and authority, and confusing them leads to looking in the profile for an answer it does not hold.
It says nothing about timing. Unlike transits in astrology, a profile is fixed. It flags no period.
It says nothing about your worth. A profile describes tendencies in how someone functions, not a skill or a potential.
Where to start
- Calculate your chart to get your two numbers. Without an accurate birth time, a line can shift by one.
- Read the first number alone for a week or two. It is the one you will recognise fastest.
- Ask two or three people close to you what they observe, then compare with the second number. Many people describe recognising it more easily in the feedback they get.
- Do not try to make the rest fit. What does not speak to you will be of no use.
And if a description does not speak to you, do not force it. These lenses exist to name what you already recognise.
Frequently asked questions
How do I find my profile?
It is calculated, not chosen. The two numbers come from the position of the Sun at your birth and 88 days before it. The calculation needs your date, time and place of birth; the app does it free and offline.
Why only 12 profiles and not 36?
Six lines combined in pairs would give 36, but the mechanics of the calculation produce only twelve. The two numbers are not independent: their gap follows the fixed distance between the conscious and unconscious Sun. Some pairs therefore cannot occur.
Is one profile better than another?
The numbers label roles, they do not rank them. A line 6 is not more advanced than a line 1, it describes a different relationship to time. Reading these numbers as a level is the most widespread misreading of profiles.
What is the difference between profile and type?
Type describes how your energy works and which signal you rely on to decide. Profile describes how you learn and how you relate. The two are read together: two Generators with different profiles do not move through the same situations.
Is the second number really unconscious?
That is the term the system uses, and it deserves quotation marks. It names a part of how you function that others often notice before you do. Many people describe recognising it more easily in the feedback they get than through their own observation.
